Furry Friends

Furry Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit no-kill cat rescue serving Clark County, Washington and adjacent counties. Founded in 1999, we are an all-volunteer organization that rescues and adopts out homeless, relinquished, and abused cats. We shelter and care for them as long as it takes to find them forever homes. We provide medical exams, medications, spay/neuter, food, and litter for up to 200 cats each year.

What we would like you to know:

  • We are a small shelter and seek to help as many cats that we can take care of properly.
  • We will go to great lengths and expense to make sure all cats we adopt out are in the best health they can be.
  • Many of our adult cats have come from seniors that have passed or need to relinquish their cat because they are going into a home. We receive many pregnant mom cats and their kittens which we raise, take care of the medical, spay/neuter then adopt out.
  • We are always looking for volunteers with skills that they can share. We are an all volunteer agency.
  • We seek to educate the public on cat care by writing articles and posting cat care tips, videos and information on our web and assorted platforms. We also submit cat care articles to the local media. When people reach out to us with their cat problem, we will do what we can to help them solve their issue.
  • We are supported only by the donations and kindness from our friends and supporters. Our operating budget for 2019 was $215,000. That is a tremendous amount of funds for us to try to raise each year. All donations are appreciated. Our biggest fundraiser is our auction in September. With the stay at home situation for 2020 we will have an online auction September 12 to 19. Please see our website for more information.
  • Furry Friends not only helps cats, it provides relationships between people and between cats and people. Some people that have to relinquish their cat are quite distraught. Like the husband and wife military couple that was assigned to go to the middle east and could no longer have their cat. We were able to find a great home for their kitty and gave them updates on how the kitty was doing.
