Baha’is believe lasting social change starts at the neighborhood level when we build relationships based on love and mutual respect. So, we start at the local level by holding devotionals and Ruhi study circles in community centers and homes with opportunities for all age groups to grow together. These prayer devotionals and Ruhi study circles are our core community building activities. They seek to transform the spiritual lives of individuals while making our world a better place for all people through a shared global vision of race unity and gender equality.
The goal of Ruhi study circles is to evoke a transformative learning experience through a learner-centered, experiential, and collaborative approach facilitated by a person who takes on the role of facilitator more so than an instructor or teacher The courses are designed to be held with participants, using critical reflection, interactive thinking, activities designed to transform theory into practical action.
The Ruhi study circles are used by Baha’is throughout the world. Participants explore subjects and themes such as reflecting on the life of the spirit, how to arise to serve, the teaching of children’s classes and Jr. Youth, among others.
